The Power Suit
Imagine a red carpet full of floor-sweeping frocks. Then imagine one of the most beautiful women in the world walking in with one of the most beautiful men in the world, wearing a his-and-hers pant suit. This was the effect Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had when they kick-started 2014 in their same-same Saint Laurent suits.

The women’s pant suit couldn’t have found a better launch pad than La Jolie and almost every red-carpet thereafter had at least a few of these. Solange Knowles, Beyonce’s hip little sister, even got married in a beauteous ivory pant suit.

“The women’s tux is a great and a bold option if you don’t want to be predictable in a cocktail dress. It looks powerful and stands out,” says designer Atsu Sekhose, who loves a neatly tailored sophisticate.
