When P.V. Sindhu won her maiden Grand Prix in 2013, she couldn’t contain her excitement. Many medals and trophies later in a span of two years, the player’s name has been announced for the Padma Shri award, which only a few had received at her age. Currently ranked no. 9 in the international circuit, Sindhu is all smiles and says she couldn’t have asked for more. After a hurried and a sudden dinner invitation the previous night, Sindhu is hoping she can spend some time at home and take a break from the back-to-back invites. “I don’t dislike parties, but sometimes I am unable to enjoy after my practise and workouts,” she says. Sindhu’s excitement on winning the Padma Shri isn’t going to settle so soon, but she isn’t letting the excitement take over her goal.
